As I started packing for my trip home from DC to North Carolina for Thanksgiving I thought I’d round up some of my fall style favorites. Winter might be coming but the Fall temperatures seem to be staying, especially in NC. I’m from a small town in Eastern North Carolina so my trips home are typically pretty casual in terms of my outfits. Aside from a few dinners at my favorite hometown spots, I am always sporting something super casual and comfortable while I’m at home visiting.
I’ve been wearing this long cardigan from Nordstrom on repeat because its SO soft and a great layering piece. Blanket scarves are also a great accessory since they are not only cute but can serve as a light “sweater,” too. I got mine during my trip to London last year at one of the markets, but I linked a similar one! My jeans are J Brand and true to size; I like the high-waist and dark color of this pair. Can’t forget my Sole Society booties, they are so comfortable and go with basically everything. Usually for the daytime I toss on my Longchamp and Ray-Bans. These two accessories are absolute staples for any wardrobe. If I don’t need a large purse my go-to is my Rebecca Minkoff crossbody. It also goes with all my outfits and can fit all the day’s necessities.
In addition to this outfit I’ve linked some fall style pieces I’ve been wearing on repeat and will definitely be bringing home with me for the holiday. Since the weather can be so hit or miss, I like to pack pieces that are light and easy to layer. Another key to packing efficiently is bringing versatile items. Like I said, my Sole Society booties go with a lot of different outfits so this helps lighten my bag by packing less shoes. Somehow I still manage to over pack, but at least I tried! check out my recent travel style post here.
